Cairns Student Lodge was one of the preferred accommodation providers during the Cairns Institute Conference held on 17 to 19 January 2018. One of our guests, Richard Mbatu who stayed with us from Palmetto, Florida, United States is featured in the January edition of the Cairns Institute Research in Tropical Societies Newsletter. You can see him on page 23 at the bottom right hand side of the page wearing the purple shirt.
Dr. Mbatu travelled from the University of South Florida (USF) and was surprised at just how similar the weather in Cairns was to that of Florida. Luckily he didn’t mind the rain we had in January. Thanks to our General Manager, Hamish Allardice, the Cairns Student Lodge shuttle bus operated daily. Our 10 guests during the conference welcomed this airconditioned complimentary service.
Another delegate, John Ryan also gave us a wonderful review:
“This is an excellent place near JCU Cairns. The facilities (pool, laundry, dining hall) are awesome. Best deal in Cairns.”
